History

Inside Out Juniors History: Inside Out Juniors has been in existence under its current name since 1996. Prior to 1996 the AAU Volleyball club in the greater Muskegon area was operated under the name of Port City Juniors and ran its practices out of the local high schools. Upon completion of the Inside Out Volleyball facility Port City Juniors became part of that club and the name was changed to Inside Out Juniors.  Inside Out Juniors also runs a satellite program out of Morley Stanwood High School in an effort to provide players from that area an opportunity to play on club teams while minimizing their travel for weekday practices.

Philosophy: Our goal is provide as many opportunities as possible for kids to learn to play the game of volleyball by offering high quality coaching and instruction at an affordable cost. In order to create the maximum amount of opportunities Inside Out Juniors offers many different programs throughout the year from two seasons of club volleyball, Summer camps, Team Camps, Beach Club, Beach Tournaments, Fall and Winter Development, In-house Teams, and private lessons. From a coaching standpoint we strive to utilize the knowledge and experience of our entire coaching staff by involving our coaches in the training of each team. Practices are planned and coordinated by our Master Coach and then each coach is involved with teaching different aspects of the game to the teams. Players work with various coaches in order to spend more time focusing on their position and the skills necessary to become a better player.

Success: Since 1999 there have been over 250 players from Inside Out Juniors that have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Most of those players have received a combination of athletic and academic scholarships. Many of those players upon graduating from college have gone on to become high school coaches, club coaches, and college coaches. Our current coaching staff has: • Been to 14 MHSAA State Finals • Won 6 MHSAA State Titles • A combined 85 years of high school coaching experience • A combined 30 years of college coaching experience • A combined 40+ years of college playing experience. The Lakeshore Volleyfest AAU Super Regional is directed by the Inside Out Juniors Volleyball Club. Started in 2001 with 40 teams it is now a tournament that attracts nearly 500 teams from throughout the Midwest and Canada. This tournament helps to provide fund raising opportunities for high school and college sports teams while also providing a significant economic boost to the West Michigan Community.
